Nice find. Looks like the chainguard was originally a one piece jobbie yours has been cut in half for some reason. As for spares well rocking horse and hens teeth spring to mind.
Little or nothing on the web but did find this. http://www.flickr.com/photos/23319723@N05/2232898211
Personally I'd strip it down get some T cut car polish and some solvol autosol and spend a few hours cleaning it up. :D

I have managed to find a few pics of this bike and it looks as though the chain gaurd is 2 seperate pieces. Someone has kindly offered to make me one for the side that is missing.
I do think I will just clean it up with T cut as you say and see how it looks.
I need to source brake levers and cables, peddles, and gear cable. Hopefully Raleigh chopper parts will fit.
I will post more pics once I get it looking decent.

Paul the chain-guard is indeed in two pieces and I have a friend who used mine to get the transfers done so he can help when you are ready...and there is a sheet of corrugated effect metal between them through which the gear stick pops up from the base, most cables should fit if you need any help with bits pm me as I made the chain guards that my friend with the transfers needed to finish off his project...

Thanks JC for the info.
So far I have given it a good T cut, and managed to clean the chrome quite nicely.
I am attempting to fit gear cable and brakes this weekend. I would love to be able to get the missing side of the chain guard. Please let me know if you can help. Luckily the silver corrugated piece is present and in good order. I also have 1 of the exhaust pipe end pieces missing. Can the see be remade?
Cheers Paul.

Hi fellas, how is the resto going on the Dragster?. A friend of mine has just acquired a TT Dragster and is going to restore also. Trying to find anything about these bikes ie Specs/Numbers produced etc is impossible.

If anybody has any sources I would be really really grateful!!!

Hi
So far so good.
You are right info on this bike really is thin on the ground. I would love to know how many were made and how many still exist today.
Where did your mate find his? It took me over 2 years searching for one.

Good stuff. This is what it's really about, taking time and hunting for the right parts.
My original '69 tallframe in carmine red (came from the states Jim Barnard) but didn't have the chainguard.
Managed to find one three years later at Billing courtesty of John Lees.
All original and the right part.
The bits are out there.
Good luck with the research. Being a Triang could be the research route to go.

Actually found tucked away in his families barn.... Tried the trang route and not got too far. Appears the bikes were made from early 1971 onwards and were reviewed in 1971 Which magazine as the "bike to have"!! Apparently cheap rip offs were made and called Panther.

Will keep on looking

Starting to take shape now.
So far fitted new chain, brake levers and cables, gear cable, seat cover, cotter pins, tyres and tubes, peddles, and brake blocks.
Have enjoyed working on it so far, but now need one side of the chain gaurd and one of the silver exhaust pie ends that is missing. I know both these parts are going to be near impossible to find but will keep looking. In the mean time I am going to look into having a chain gaurd made.
This bike is just fantastic to ride, people stop in the street in amazement as I ride past.
Maybe next year funds allowing I may get the frame stripped and re painted. Then of course I would have the problem of findind decals.
For now it will stay as is and hope to clock up a few miles while the weather is good.
Would love to hear from any other Dragster owners out there, or any info on these bikes.
