Hi All
I'm in the process of refurbishing a MK1 chopper and need some advise on refurbing R nuts. Mine are rusty. Can the R decals be removed and re-used?

Andy :)

To remove the "R" bits put a bolt into the nut and keep tightening it. Eventually the bolt will push the "R" bit out of the end. Now you can rechrome the nut.

To put the "R" bit back in if you can find a washer that is just a fraction smaller than the "R" bit use that in a vice to gently pressure it back in. A tiny amount of superglue might make the job more solid if needed.

Thats one way, I'm sure others know other ways to achieve the same thing.

Thanks for that. I've got them out ok. Now for re-chroming.
