seems to be narrower than frame by 2-3mm did all MK3`s have racks or are there different frames on the go?

This is where there is a brainfart suddenly happen for me.

Thinking about it, the black MK3 frame I got, had a rack on the back, but didn't have the mounts to hold it as most of them have, so I think it was put on there as an afterthought.

Started to fit the bits together today, mostly donated from a Ground Cruiser,
Not sure about the bars yet, may use a set of MK1 instead.

Just got to fit the V brakes and all the cables, find a set of Old Grips and levers and I`m about there. Have I missed anything?

Finally got around to putting on the brakes today, I now just have to put on the fulcrum clip, and set up the gear cable, after I`ve stuck a chain on it.

Go with the Mk1s, those big apes take the eye away from what is a good looking bike.
It would look more classic.

Right finally got around to finishing the MK3 project. Did the chain, gears and brakes today.
Rides nice, I actually prefer it with the bigger handlebars, it helps the ride.

What a great job, and the question remains...

Why Raleigh could not produce something similar...?

The USA spec Mk3 bars would look excellent, I saw some for sale on Ebay.com $30.00 although the seller wanted $100.00 to post them to Ireland..!

Via two weeks in Dubai and a stop over for sightseeing in Venice obviously at that price..!

If we had a contact in the states who would be willing to post them at cost it would look sweet.
